Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bonding is an effective treatment to improve your smile in just one appointment.

What is cosmetic bonding?

A high-tech tooth-coloured resin is applied to the outer surface of the front teeth. The composite material is then shaped and finished to improve the appearance of stained, uneven, chipped or decayed teeth.

Cosmetic bonding can also be used to reduce gaps between teeth for a natural-looking smile.

What is the procedure for cosmetic bonding?

Cosmetic bonding treatment requires little preparation and no need for an anaesthetic. Your dentist will first lightly roughen the surface of the teeth to be treated. The resin is then applied to the tooth, bonding it to the surface.

When the resin hardens under a special ultra-violet light, the surface is shaped and polished to match the surrounding teeth. It is a fast procedure with reliable results.

Is cosmetic bonding a long-lasting treatment?

With regular care, bonding can last several years. The surface can chip when biting hard foods such as ice cubes. If damaged, cosmetic bonding can be repaired or replaced as required.
